Check out my new video games show!
Re: Check out my new video games show!
Luke really fucked me by pointing out your nervousness. I was completely fixated on it after reading his comment.
I thought it was a pretty good first video though. I'll probably watch it again and post some pointers at a later date.

Great I had to install quicktime.
I find your choice of outfit of tie and dress shirt weird. Not something you should care about, however it seems odd. In the video it seems like you have a large amount of wrinkles on your shirt(Or something like that perhaps I am imagining things). I know that know one cares about stuff like that. I do and can't I couldn't stop staring at (your left) sleeve during the video. Good video but I thought it was going to be about reviewing games.

Re: Check out my new video games show!
Thanks for the criticisms everyone, I do take them seriously. I realize now that I was very fidgety. I think I need to have someone there with me as a co-host to feel more at ease. I felt I was forcing some of the lines. I plan on having the current sections of the show plus some special sections such as retro game collecting and such. Originally, It was going to be a straight up review show, but I found this format more interesting.
About Quicktime; it's edited in iMovie and uploaded through iWeb, so quicktime is the native format. I will also host on Vimeo soon to make it easier for people who don't have Quicktime. Thanks everyone, I'll keep you posted. Oh, and I guess my shirt was more wrinkled than I thought.

Hey dude, just watched your first episode and have a few things for you.
First and most important, kudos for putting forth the effort and actually producing a show. Many times that's the most difficult thing to do. Glad you went for it and want to see you keep doing it.
Second, the format is very newshour-ish, which isn't a bad thing, but inclines me to want to see you behind a desk. That also affords you the luxury of having notes (for reference, don't read verbatim) in front of you rather than trying to read off cue-cards and gives you something to do with your hands. (I keep envisioning the Muppet Newscaster, btw)
Third, I found the length even on this one to be a bit much, so a longer episode kinda puts me off. While I liked the existing format of having several spots I'd suggest considering paring down a bit (i.e.: one game feature per episode) and then producing more episodes.
Fourth, reiterating some previous comments, your position in the frame was a bit awkward, as well as the changing graphic size and good-bye laugh track.
Lastly, perhaps just an immediate reaction, but your name went rapid-fire in the first 30 seconds. Between the announcement of the show, which contains your name, announcing the host (your name), then you welcoming to the show (name), and stating who you are (name again) it got to be a bit redundant, perhaps be conscious of this in the future.
Anyway, take it for what you will, just thought I'd drop in my thoughts.

Quick poll. Would you, the viewer, prefer a daily show that is 5 minutes or less, or a weekly show that's a bit longer. I'm playing with the idea of doing a "Today in video game history" segment. What do ya think?

Do you think you CAN do a show daily? That would be quite very time consuming. Plus I think it would begin to get boring much faster than way.

I would film a weeks worth in one day then just upload one a day. I don't think it would get boring. Every day would be about a different retro game that came out "today" in video game history. I may do a trial week just to see how it goes. Maybe for the first week of January.yomomma1 wrote:Do you think you CAN do a show daily? That would be quite very time consuming.
