I love the classics such as Frosty the Snowman, Christmas Story, Drummer Boy and Ruldolph. I still think that elf dentist looks like Zelda Windwalker!

I think I'm one of the few people that love the pastel colorized version of Its a Wonder Life, I treasure my Laser Disc version of this. Most black and white movies such as Dr Strangelove lose a lot of impact when colorized. For some reason this Capra Christmas film that got early poor colorization, reminds me of an old faded Norman Rockwell print.

Okay how about a more recent annual Christmas Classic?
If you haven't seen this yet, a great movie. The Family Stone

I posted my list last week on my site, so I'll repost it here for all to see:

6. Gremlins - This movie is on my list because of how it’s dark comedy meshes with the cheerful holiday setting.

5. Batman Returns - Similar to Gremlins, Batman Returns is sort of a dark and campy comedy featuring one of my favorite comic book characters. My wife disagrees with this choice of Christmas movie since it’s only set during the holiday, but think it does send a message in regards to the true meaning of Christmas:
“Batman Returns manages to provide surprisingly critical commentary of not only the commercial, mass-produced consumerist aspects of the holiday, but also its representation in the media.” -denofgeek.com

4. Scrooged -I’m not a fan of Charles Dicken’s original “Christmas Carol”, but I do like the remakes and re-imaginations especially if they feature Bill Murray.

3. National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation - Growing up I have always loved the National Lampoon “Vacation” movies, but it wasn’t until I was older that I appreciated the humor in this movie. Now that I am now a “grown-up” who has to deal with the adult side of Christmas in regards to buying presents, decorating, and hosting family gatherings I started to commensurate with Clark Griswold instead of just laughing at him.

2. A Muppets Christmas Carol -Like I said earlier, I prefer the remakes of the classic Christmas tale AND I like Muppets more than any other cast of characters (including Santa Claus) making this a perfect holiday movie.

1. Die Hard - Die Hard is number 1 on this list because it is one of my all time favorite action movies… that just happens to be set on Christmas Eve.

Christmas Vacation, it is pretty much the only movie in the National Lampoon Vacation series that I ever really liked, plus that is pretty much backed up by nostalgia, it is one of the two movies that is considered mandatory at our house, every Christmas.

Of course there is the big cliche A Christmas Story but who cares, it is an awesome movie, especially that is the movie was followed up by Bob Clarks previous films Porky's 1 and 2. It is the only film that I could think of that I never ever looked up online, because I do not want to know what was going on behind the scenes or how they made the film, hell I did not even know that they actually made a sequel to the movie, and for the record that I do not want to watch it, because I know its going to suck and something like that will forever contaminate the film for me.

The movie I really want to see is Joyeux Noel, it seems like a movie I could get into, and it sounded so inspiring.

Let's see...Muppet Christmas Carol, Muppet Family Christmas, Gremlins, A Christmas Story, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation and Nightmare Before Christmas. I have yet to see all of It's a Wonderful Life and I haven't really enjoyed any that have come out in the last couple of years :?

It does tickle me to see that so many like the Muppet Christmas Carol. My friend called me in the middle of it last year and when he asked me what I was watching I just told him "A Christmas Carol". He said, "Really? The 1938 version with Reginald Owen?" (he considers himself a real film buff) and I said, "No. The Muppet one." and then there was a really long pause before he hung up on me
