That really sucks. Maybe it is just the hard drive and you can replace that and redownload things.
However once you get it going, don't put it back on the floor. Having something with fans that sucks in air on the floor is a bad idea no matter what the surface. Dust falls to the floor and gets kicked up by moving around and the console will just hoover it all up. Hard floors get 'tumbleweeds' in corners and under things even if you clean often. Make sure the console is at least a foot off the floor to limit the amount of dust it sucks up.
