I love this site.

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Take a look at that last post. It took some real strength not to reply. Damn kids having to cheat online. That combined with reading a few other threads made me very angry. Now I remember why I rarely play games online!

So yeah, this place is all sorts of awesome.
Man, that sucks. Cheaters have definitely ruined online play for me. It started with Mario Kart DS and ended with Street Fighter IV with many in-between. It really blows because its fun playing online and all it takes is one douchebag to ruin it for everyone. Nowadays I don't even play online anymore, I became so fed up with it I cancelled my Gold account in Sept. And you know its more than the cheating that ruined it for me. People have absolutely no class anymore. The immature & rude behavior, foul language and general lack of courtesy towards other players really turned me off to online play.

I have been on a lot of forums
You won't believe how good racketboy is
and I hope not many other people discover it, because idiots will come in and troll, fight, and give false arguments.

small flourishing community > large stupid community, just go check gamespot forums

I'll assume that its a Gamecube focused forum? Sounds pretty cool I'll have to check it out.

This place might as well be the bizzaro version of Gamefaqs forums.

I also must say the racketboy fourms are the best I have come across. I used to use Game Informer a lot when I was younger, but those forums went down the shit hole real quick. Every was either locked or engaged in a flame war.

Yeah, I love the community here. I've been lurking for a while (was already browsing threads when Mozgus was still active) and I was met with nothing but politeness (and probably patience when I have said some things that didn't deserve that much politeness in return).

And one nice thing about this forum is that in spite of all the niceties, it's still never boring (which, according to Demolition Cop, is going to be the result of the total absence of hostility and aggressiveness), because we still get heated arguments, and we have our fair share of trolls (the recent spate of Halo-bashers, for one thing) but they get handled in a mature manner.

As for past experiences with other gaming forums, I once tried participating in what I thought was a friendly, mature, gaming forum because majority of the posters were from the gaming industry as developers or journalists, and jesus, it was very unwelcoming. They just made me feel unwelcome in a more articulate manner.

I remember stating then that I mostly buy games from brick and mortar stores because I had no access to a credit card. One of the moderators immediately jumped on my case and accused me of being a hippie elitist who's trying to be cool by living on the edge and renouncing the commercialist yadda yadda yadda, everything just flew over my head.

I just stopped visiting then and there, and did not bother explaining that I live in a country where credit cards are not that accessible to the lower end of the middle class, and that I really canceled my card on purpose because my job then was not so stable and I have a tendency to overspend, which means I would have better chances of managing my finances with actual cash and a bank account that can't be spent with a single swipe.

Loving this forum since 07. :)

It's funny, OP, because I go to the Game Room forum on Xbox.com fairly regularly as it seems to be the ONLY place in the Internet where anyone gives a shit about that service. Add me if you're still on Game Room.
