But for older, rarer games, I generally have a rule that I won't go over £100 - this is why I don't own Harmful Park, as much as I'd like to. I've broke this a couple of times though, most notably for Psychic Killer Taromaru.

When I did the conversion, 100£ is a lot of money, i got radiant silvergun for less than that. You like your shmups eh?

If you could believe it I got Taromaru for $5 bucks from a guy who emailed me selling me a whole bunch of stuff together cheap. That was a score!

It all depends on how much I like the game. My favorite shmup is Progear. If they made a console version of that game, I would spend like 150 on it, no problem. They really should make a console version of that game.

I've spent very little on some, like Mobile Light Force 2. I got that new for 2 dollars. I've also spent around 80 for others.

I think the price of full retail games in australia at the moment is criminal. New x360 releases frequently sell for $100+, then are discounted back after 4 to 5 months. Outrageous, especially considering the aust dollar is close to parity with the us dollar.

I think the xbox live pricing is generally pretty close to the mark, ie, 10 to 15 dollars for a game. I'd pay maybe up to $50 for a full retail version, unless it was a rare out of print collectible that i was really keen on. $100 for a huge release common game is just wrong.

I guess it all depends on the rarity of the game.

This is actually the same rule I follow.
