Hidden Gems vs Bottom of the Barrel
Sounds good -- maybe have them grouped by console?marurun wrote:Tell ya what, Racketboy... Why don't you let me get together a crew and put together some Bottom of the Barrel (or perhaps Lost Turds) columns and if you like 'em you can post 'em. And you don't have to write them, only edit. The idea would be to keep them short and sweet, only looking at maybe 3 games per entry, with some modicum of effort (yeah right) to theme them or put them under the same umbrella, somehow.
What's ya think?
And hey, if Racketboy approves, anybody think this would be fun and maybe wanna help me nail down screenshots, help with ideas, or writing or anything? I don't have any video capture equipment so if I can't emulate it I can't image it.
I'm always for having user-submitted content if you guys are passionate about something

I have some image capturing equipment. But everything is kinda wishywashy for me for shortterm goals, so if you need/want me to do something give me atleast a weeks notice - virus is going around the office and people are having to take off, so much so that I was doing my entire departments job on Thursday...I am expecting compensation, I didnt get to watch the rest of Robinhood like I was planning on.

A real obscure stinker for the Saturn is Defcon 5. The game is suppossed to be a genre-blending FPS/Strategy game full of action and cinima like cut-scenes. The game is overly complicated. First off, the playing area is huge. So huge, in fact, you will get lost if you even think about straying from the absolute center of the action. The game is supposed to be in a defence station in the outskirts of the solar system, filled with corridores that look the same, turrets that are absolutely worthless, and elevators that are inconsistent because they sometimes won't take you to the floor you want to go to. Second, the game is short. Alien attacks swarm the station while you fruitlessly reload the turrets and hope to dear god they will hit their target. Basicly, if you don't complete the game in about an hour, the aliens will kill you. And last, the absolute reason nobody can enjoy this game: VOS. The complecated computer system that you play half the game through. Filled with menus, sub-menus, and SUB-SUB-MENUS, you will get lost using the VOS almost as often as you will get lost in the rest of the game.
Fun Fact: If you read the manuel for Defcon 5 you will notice the developers weren't sure what system the game was being developed for. The manuel continually switches between directions for Playstation and Saturn. This, is maybe the only ammusing part of the game.
