Was that screamo combined with rap? Ugh, some things sound bad on paper, but are even worse in execution.

I'm actually pretty familiar with them. I used to hang out at music venues all the time and I stood outside one of their shows. You should see the awful people that are into that kind of music.

Unfortunately I was in a band that played Warped Tour for about a week last summer ('09). This is unfortunate because twice we ended up having to set our merch tent next to theirs which brought a constant barrage of what I can only describe as hipster juggalos.

As for the band, they got a lot of shit from a lot of bands so they mostly hid in the tour bus they shared with the equally awful group Millionaires. Yes, there is in fact a "girl version" of Brokencyde that is just as awful for a whole different set of reasons.

first off, that picture is a photoshop of two separate goofy mosh photos. the guy in that photo is my friend nate, and that picture was taken at a show (which i attended) in indianapolis about 6 years ago. i still think it's funny that his picture floats around the internet as a meme now.

secondly, these bands are terrible. honestly the worst music ever. has anyone heard hollywood undead? same type of shit. more rapping. there was a rumor that one of the guys in that band used to be in american nightmare, which is hilarious to me, considering that band is kind of a parallel for this type of music but in a completely different scene.

finally, it is still blowing my mind to this day that normal people can use the term "screamo" in this day and age to describe something so completely different than what i would have used the term for a decade ago. i am sure fvgazi, bikeage and other members of this forum can sympathize with me on that one.

"screamo" is just a giant catch-all term for any music with a harsh vocal style, don'tcha know?

This reminds me, in an anime convention some bands played. They were your pretty average stuff, some good, some bad until one claimed that they played "Metal mixed with Reggaeton".

Everyone in the convention froze. Then, when they started to play everyone regogiced because the speakers were crap and you couldn't hear it.

A friend of mine also told me she heard a "Flamenco Mix" of Xepher. Yes, Xepher, the Beatmania/DDR song.

i understand that's what it's been reduced to now, which i think is totally dumb. when i used the term, i would be describing bands like saetia, you and i, usurp synapse, portraits of past, love lost but not forgotten, pg99, mara'akate, i am the resurrection, off minor, and to a lesser extent in/humanity, reversal of man, and universal order of armageddon. now when i hear the 16-year-old high school kids i work with referring to bullshit like this as "screamo" it blows my mind.

"screamo" has always been a really stupid, stupid term anyway. now it's just even stupider.
