I added to my original post Noise. And no, the lovely DRM in the ebook files doesn't allow cross device file switching........though there may be a way to break the DRM, I'm not sure. And yes the 3G is free and works great for doing basic things.

I think I'm sold. My wife seems jealous of the 3G I have on my cellphone, I think she'd really like that.corn619 wrote:I added to my original post Noise. Re: xmas shopping help: eReaders?
Hope you aren't expecting too much from the 3G, aside from wikipedia, and reading an occasional website, the 3G is primarily meant for downloading books.
I used it for wiki articles, but found it impossible to browse sites with heavy picture loads and layouts. Imagine a text browser if you may.

If you aren't having a good time, why are you playing?

I suspect she'd check her email and facebook. Not much else. I'm sure it could handle mobile.facebookavrame wrote:Hope you aren't expecting too much from the 3G, aside from wikipedia, and reading an occasional website, the 3G is primarily meant for downloading books.

I clicked on this thread thinking you meant the Nintendo eReader.noiseredux wrote:So obviously the Kindle is the big one that people talk about, but there's also the Nook and the Sony eReader... and many others out there. Are there really major differences from one to the next? What do I need to look for? What do I need to avoid? Do all eBook-stores (amazon, b&n, emusic, etc) offer books compatible with all the eReaders? Give me the "for dummies" version to help me shop. Thanks!
