Same here, My exact thought was:
"I hope this thread isn't about the Vectrex game..."
My thought was "I hope this thread IS about the Vectrex/2600 game.."

major disappoint :(

Oh, and this is auto-skip if Susumu Hirasawa isn't on board.
I'd like to see him involved too, his tracks were pretty crucial to making the original Berserk anime so well done. He did score both Berserk games (not the vectrex game heh) so he definitely has interest in Berserk beyond his work for the anime.

I'm a big Berserk fan, I have all the comics but still have not read them. Apparently, this new anime series will start from the beginning and be 100% faithful to the manga.

Wait, so its not going to be continuing from where the original show left off? Its an actual full remake but going to go further?

Exactly. Also from what I've heard, this will be completely animated in CG and have an all-new voice cast.

If it's actually loyal to the manga that would be great. Only 25 episodes makes me sad though, since that means it again will end at the Eclipse.

Also, Miura is starting one of his chapter binges again. Hopefully he finishes the manga before he kicks it.

Ew.

I don't mind 3D animation, but I'm not a fan of using it as an adaptation of 2D artwork--especially not artwork like what's in the Berserk manga.

Don't dismiss it yet. Look what Studio Ghibli did with Ni no Kuni and CG.

Nope. It's still too obvious, and I still don't like it. The cel-shaded 3D animation is fine on its own, and fine for a game. However, it clashes too badly with the 2D animation they're interspersing with it, and I wouldn't appreciate it as something non-interactive.
