the post office smells like poo poo aka the post office is shit.
i have a different mailing address than the city i actually live in. and i think my zip code belongs to another city also. i don't know if this confuses the post office workers, but every once in a while shipping to my house won't work correctly; shit arrives a few weeks late or never at all.
on top of that, a package that was supposedly shipped on monday from an adjacent state still has not arrived. if i stand on the edge of my property and if the wind is right, i could probably piss on the person who shipped to me. why the hell hasn't the package arrived yet? on top of that, delivery confirmation hasn't been updated since monday.

if you took a shit, please put it back
Re: post office
Post Offices in this country would charge hundreds of dollars to ship things you guys routinely trade on the B/S/T section. I almost feel sad seeing most transactions that go on on this place.

Problems with corruption? Inefficiency? I know Brazil has high game prices because of rampant piracy but I've never heard of issues with your postal service.jfrost wrote:Post Offices in this country would charge hundreds of dollars to ship things you guys routinely trade on the B/S/T section. Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?
Re: post office
Everything is expensive here, I think people never thought that they could send packages around the country for a reasonable fee. But yes, the postal service here is known to be wildly inefficient. People have suggested ending its monopoly, but that got nowhere.
Re: post office
So there is no private option like UPS or FedEx here in the US? I don't know much about Brazil but unless there is some kind of sanction on a business competing with your Postal Service it sounds like that could be a real market opportunity.

Re: post office
No, it's a full scale monopoly, there are no alternatives at all for the regular consumer (businesses do have alternatives). The Supreme Court recently deemed unconstitutional the attempt to end the monopoly, in fact.

Whoa. That sucks. I thought Brazil was supposed to be that shining gem of a South American state that WASN'T crazy corrupt?jfrost wrote:No, it's a full scale monopoly, there are no alternatives at all for the regular consumer (businesses do have alternatives). Re: post office
I think that's Chile. Brazil is just good PR.
Re: post office
The only issues I have with USPS is that they try to cram my packages into my mailbox. Even things that say "DO NOT BEND" or "FRAGILE" I find crammed and bent into my mailbox like books etc. I've complained alot of times but they say it won't happen again, but it does.
