Re: Way to Restore Wii to Normal?
If you feel bad for pirating current generation games that you could have bought, you don't really need to revert your Wii anyway. You could just go purchase the games you feel are worth it. Then you still get access to imports and homebew if you need it.
Re: Way to Restore Wii to Normal?
It's weird, I felt bad too when I first modded my Wii. So I loaded my original settings and just bought everything I had pirated. Dunno why but I felt guilty and couldn't keep mine modded. I guess that I know the work that goes into the games and I want to support people that make them.flamepanther wrote:If you feel bad for pirating current generation games that you could have bought, you don't really need to revert your Wii anyway. Thanks everyone...

Same here, especially those games that don't have a lot of sales. (MLB Power Pros, Little King's Story, Sin and Punishment)Gnashvar wrote:It's weird, I felt bad too when I first modded my Wii. Right, but why not just buy those games and leave the system modded for running homebrew?

Re: Way to Restore Wii to Normal?
Exactly. There is a way to mod your Wii so that it ONLY runs homebrew apps (perfect for the retrogamer). Running backups requires extra work -- like modifying your systems IOS's. Remember, installing the Homebrew Channel on your Wii does NOT allow you to run pirated games; it allows you to run homebrew.flamepanther wrote:Right, but why not just buy those games and leave the system modded for running homebrew?

Wellllll... it will allow you to run pirated games from other consoles if the homebrew you're running happens to be an emulator. Otherwise, that's basically right.xan_racketBOY_fan wrote:Exactly. Haha, I suppose your right. Does go full circle now, doesn't it? But you get the idea.flamepanther wrote:Wellllll... it will allow you to run pirated games from other consoles if the homebrew you're running happens to be an emulator. Otherwise, that's basically right.
Re: Way to Restore Wii to Normal?
Well I went ahead and fixed it so I couldn't run the backups, and I used Waninkoko's updater and took out all my fake channels with it. However I kept Homebrew Channel and Updated to 4.3, and it still works, shockingly.
Thanks for the help guys!

Yes but you can't back-up your Wii unless you hack it to install Bootmii.Gnashvar wrote:For anyone thinking of softmodding their Wii. It's always a good idea to make a backup of your original settings or firmware that way you can go back to that when you're done messing with things.

Re: Way to Restore Wii to Normal?
I pre-ordered S&P 'cause I liked the first one and for Little King's, I heard mixed reviews for it. So I downloaded it, and after playing for a bit, I ordered it online. I wish it actually worked like that for Nintendo's online service (like PSN demos).Josh wrote:Same here, especially those games that don't have a lot of sales.
