Hey the A's were great fun to watch in the late 80s/early 90s. I was pulling for them against the Dodgers, Giants, etc. Bash Bros. FTW!

We can play defense no problem, but we have had some issues in the hitting department. Our farm system is fantastic, but we always trade the players we build up. I can't believe they signed Bob Geren for two more years. AAHHH!
Let's see the Tigers are a joke... Check... But I'm a huge Charlie Manual and Roy Halladay fan.. Yup I'm jumping on the Philly bandwagon.. I'm rooting for a Rangers vs Phillies or Rays vs Phillies World series.. I'm hoping the AL team represented is a small market team that hasn't had too many winning seasons ala Rangers/Rays..
Trinity_06 wrote:What a great way to start off the 2010 MLB Post Season, Roy Halladay throws a no hitter, only the second one in MLB Post Season history. I think the Phillies will take the momentum from game one and ride it all the way to the World Series. Also last night was a tough loss for the Twins I was hoping they would get over the hump and beat the Yankees but so far it's not looking to good.
The amazing thing about that game was that he only threw 104 pitches against 28 PA(having 1 walk in the game) while striking out 8.. He only averaged 3.7 pitches per Plate Appearance which is downright amazing and meant he almost never reached 3 ball counts.. Just straight dominant, and I'm sure Philly doesn't regret trading away Lee for Doc... Although Cliff Lee was dominant also giving up only 2 ER but recording 10 ks..

I was quite skeptical of the trade this off season but it took about 2 starts for me to completely change my mind. Lee is great, though - no denying that. I'd love to see him and Halladay face off in Game 1 of the WS.
There are a ton of amazing stats about last night's game. The one that impresses me the most? The Reds won the team-triple crown in the NL.

A's have a sick young rotation... They could be a force for years to come.. Kurt Suzuki looks like a keeper as well at catcher.. NO Buster Posey, but his career slash numbers are .264/.322/.389 which is very respectable for a catcher.. If he could hit more extra base hits his numbers would be pretty stellar..

The thing about Doc is that he has always pitched in the AL east which will inflate stats having to go up against the likes of the Yankees, Sox and recently the Rays... Despite this he has a career WHIP of 1.18 compared to Lee's 1.26.. Also Doc has a career FIP of 3.42 compared to Lee's 3.77... Keep in mind that both pitchers struggled early in their career.. The last few years are actually quite deadlocked but I still give Halladay the edge being that he pitched in the AL east most of his career...
Boy oh boy Minnesota is choking again.. Losing to the Yankees even though they have home field this series... I think I can be proud of my Tigers that if they didn't swoon in the second half they could give a team hell with the likes of Verlander and Scherzer topping the rotation...
Damn 5 posts this thread... I think I need to stop..
