Favorite guns in shooters

I love me the classic AK-47. I always use this gun if it's available in a game.

Heh heh, yeah - I used to use the AK-47 religiously in Counter-Strike. If I was playing Terrorist, I'd forgo basic equipment just to get it ASAP. If I was playing Counter-Terrorist, I'd hunt down anyone using it and swap for it immediately.

My dad even got me an AK-47 for Christmas.

Perfect Dark on Nintendo 64 perfected the shotgun in my opinion. I haven't played a single game to date (Including the sequel...) with a shotgun as awesome as the one from the original Perfect Dark.

I love a whole lot of guns, but just to name one of the ones I like alot, it would be the Plasma Cutter from Dead Space.

In horror games, I tend to use the main handgun, since its the gun that gets the most ammo, and the Plasma Cutter is that gun in Dead Space. Usually the weakest group of guns, they have great accuracy and a great ammo count. Making your shots count will make you a deadly marksman.

In a game where you have to dismember enemy limbs, the Plasma Cutter's swivel function is perfect for dismembering any kind of enemy. Couple that with the fact it's one of the most accurate weapons in the game, plus, it can go really far, and has an almost instantaneous hit.

I love handguns in general. They're usually the first guns I fully upgrade, and the Plasma Cutter just adds really nice functionality to a staple default gun.

My favorite firearm of all time is the are the already mentioned shotgun, and in shooters I typically go for melee weapons, however specific guns in games:

I prefer using a sidearm in most shooters. It just makes you feel like more of a badass. People are coming at you in waves with machine guns, and you just pick them off one at a time, removing large chunks of their face with a good ol' .45.

The taser in Syphon Filter at least deserves a mention.



You can hold that button down and electrocute people indefinitely. My friend's demented brother in high school once taped the button down and watched with devilish glee for like an hour.
