On the upside it's good that Sega condones (albeit indirectly) such fangames. They could have been c**ts about it like a certain company.
Tell me you did not just say that! :x

activision or Square? Actually I think square has a MUCH worse track record than activision when it comes to being pricks to fans.

Check back in 2089!
I checked out the forum where they get together and work on that one time. Pretty sure that game is never coming out. They were having like an 80 page debate over how to make a certain platform look HD and whether they should just smooth it out or add texture.

This remake looks better (the motobugs make me think it's more remix than remake) but it'll probably never get finished either. Say what you want about sega but at least Sonic 4 got released.

Who said this ain't going to be made?

Well they released a playable demo of the first 3 acts.

Image

Download it here

http://www.sonicretro.org/2010/10/sonic ... -download/

This looks and plays amazing. There are no boss fights yet, nor special stages, but it still the best sonic game since the 90s.

After act 1, they don't follow the original Sonic 2 acts so faithfully, but that is ok, the levels are ace. Also all 3 acts are Emerald Hill zone. I loved this so much.

Go ahead and download it.

Just played through the demo. Visually it is stunning, but it is so overloaded with visuals I have a (very) hard time picking out the enemies from everything else. This makes it to where you are very cautious while running through the level which takes away from the speed and the whole purpose and feel of a sonic game. Either way though, what they have accomplished already is still jaw-dropping! Looking forward to more.

I've been playing it for about an hour and I'm blown away. BEAUTIFUL graphics..and this game has way better physics than Sonic 4. It cracks me up how much better this is than the official S4.

Here's a megaupload link of the demo in case you cannot get the forums to load

MU link was shared by "RealityCheck" on the neo-geo.com forums.

This game kicks ass.

Indeed it is. As said previously the foreground is very cluttered but otherwise the game is better than Sonic 4 ever hopes to be. Here's hoping the team doesn't go emo on us

holly shit the guy who made it is Greek ( http://forums.sonicretro.org/index.php?showtopic=19981 look at flag next to his name). He just joined a Greek forum I'm on. Everyone is telling him how awesome the game is. I'll try asking him about more info.
