in FFVIIs last battle with sepheroth all my characters were turned into frogs and had one hp left but i still managed to attack for 1 damage and beat him. it was pretty shocking.

Was trying to beat Sonic 3 will all the emeralds on a straight playthrough without dying. I had never beat the last boss without losing rings before.

I had like 100 rings at the end of launch base zone and went supersonic, planning to blaze through the finale easily. I forgot about the long ride to the final 2 bosses in eggman's ship. My rings hit 0 as the 2nd to last boss blew up.

And then I beat the final boss without getting hit for the first time, with 0 rings.

I've beaten a few games with one bar of energy left. Most notably Ninja Gaiden and Castlevania.

Why on earth can't I find deals like that?! That's probably the luckiest moment in video game shopping.

Anyway... I (barely) made it through the Hell stage in Cave Story without the life pot.

Ninja Gaiden is a beast, congrats on beating that at all!

My friend and I were playing Swords and Serpents for the NES a long time ago. This game is hard as hell and very unforgiving when you get far into it.

At one point we were very far away from a safe spot and people in our party were slowly dieing off. All we had left was one Thief and we kept surviving these battles with only one party member left. He had such a high dodge chance that he dodged something like 49 hits in a row before he was finally killed. It was so intense knowing that he was our last hope and he could be killed easily at any moment. Of course he ended up dying but not before cheating death for a solid 10 minutes.

Well a friend of mine just froze a pokémon with Ice Punch, then it melted but was frozen again the next turn. He then later managed to hit 6 times with an 80% accurancy move and Hypnosis (60%) finishing off with a crit.

I hate him.

I love stuff likes this. It's so much better when you go through something like that with a friend, isn't it? It makes the whole thing that much more intense and memorable.
