Ni No Kumi Gameplay Footage
Re: Ni No Kumi Gameplay Footage
The art style in Eternal Sonata was nice.. But the actual graphics wear mediocre at best. And certainly lazy with the character animations. The characters all looked very awkward and like they were about to fly away at any moment. And the battle system was broken. All you needed was the bow and arrow girl to stand as far away as possible and wreck any boss within a few hits.

That's just the thing. Reading numerous reviews saying it's a grindfest makes me not want to play it. And while reviewers are very often wrong about a lot of things, a grindfest is a grindfest. It is what it is. If it were possible to pass fights without grinding, I imagine at least one or two reviews would have said so.s1mplehumar wrote:Why don't you play it first. Basically, it's an old school, grind fest, something that I feel the genre should have moved on from by now. You will need HOURS of leveling for every boss fight in the game or even just to survive getting through a certain part of the map. Honestly, it sounds like the game is only getting high scores from people because of the Studio Ghibli involvement. Of course, no one is going to come right out and say that because we live in a world that is full of BS.

Got your PM. Fair enough man. I'm sort of in line with Dave's thoughts on the game. It's so darned cute...is that enough??Gamerforlife wrote:That's just the thing. I actually like grind-fests...on handhelds; so, I was a bit disappointed when Level-5 did not localize the DS version of this game. Maybe, if I am very lucky, we will see a 3DS port...
Re: Ni No Kumi Gameplay Footage
I picked it up on PS3, and glad I did. Modern day Classic imo, some games are just plain bad but I dont see the need to nit pick on minor annoyances or go by any reviews.
So far the game is anime heavy with smooth transitions into gameplay, searching towns, talking, etc. I havent battled much but the games doing a good job of teaching me the ropes. Typical select option>execute, theres some free roaming and you can pickup things the enemies drop. I cant add many comments just yet since I'm only an hour in, but its pretty good I'd say.
As far as grinding as a drawback I'd disagree since I like to grind and play my RPGs on harder settings. Ys PSP series is nothing till you've played on Nightmare.

If you can see the future while remembering the past, you may just have control of the present.

Seems like they are having a ton of issues with the Wizard Edition and canceled orders. I better get mine, I was part of the kickstarter they did. What a cluster.

The Namco Bandai online store is AWFUL. Had an issue when I ordered the Dark Souls special edition from them. No order updates for weeks until I had to contact customer service multiple times to get it canceled.Stark wrote:Seems like they are having a ton of issues with the Wizard Edition and canceled orders. So is it just them in general? I had the same problem with Dark Souls pre-ordered through Newegg.com what a bunch of hacks.ZenErik wrote:The Namco Bandai online store is AWFUL. I finally got the Wizard's Edition today after having to contact Digital River to make sure everything was still in order. I guess I was one of the lucky ones, this is a beautiful CE; it's too bad that Namco decided to use Digital River for this release. I will definitely avoid any retailer that utilizes Digital River in the future.

Finally, someone else.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Can't say I'm too excited about this. I never cared for the Studio Ghibli art style and there are so many other JRPGs out there that appeal to me more.
