True, the Playstation versions weren't bad though. I played the hell out of the Playstation version of SF Alpha 2, mostly with Ken, Ryu and sometimes Guy(he's such a badass).EvilRyu2099 wrote:The funny thing is I got a saturn way back in 1995 before the PS was released... Re: What was your primary console in each generation
I've never owned a current gen system till the 360.
I was all PC till a little after the PS2 came out, when I bought a PSone. I still frequently gamed on my PC till about 3 years ago.
The PSOne got traded for a Dreamcast sometime well after the system was dead but Gamestop still carried them.
My roommate had a Gamecube and Xbox while they were current so I never bothered with those, instead I bought a SNES and a Saturn. I finally bought a PS2 when the price dropped to $150 whenever that was.
In 2006(?) I bought a Xbox, and a bit later a Genesis. The Xbox was my main console till last year. It got near constant use with XBMC and emulators. In the last 2 years I've gotten rid of the SNES, got a 360, and a Gamecube.
I'll be adding a PS3 shortly, and hopefully a JP360 a few months later.

Re: What was your primary console in each generation
The only previous gen console that i got while it was still in its lifespan was my Dreamcast. Every other console i got a lot later than all my friends for some reason. I remember being allowed to take the day off school to go into town and pick it up my preordered system on the launch day.
In contrast to my parents being cool enough to do that, the only reason i got my saturn after its lifespan is because they got me one in 98 just before Sega stopped to concentrate on the DC and kept it wrapped up in christmas wrapping paper on the living room table to wind me up from about September until christmas when i was allowed to open it.
I got my Nes in about 95 and only a couple of years before that i was still loading cassettes in my spectrum. Pretty much every other console i own ive picked up in the last five years.

I haven't slept for ten days, because that would be too long.

Re: What was your primary console in each generation
Sega Megadrive
skipped a generation
Sega Dreamcast (and then bought a Saturn and N64 on the cheap)
Nintendo Gamecube
Have no interest in the current generation and probably the next.*
*That said, my family bought a Wii. I don't own any games for it though and pretty much never play it.

Re: What was your primary console in each generation
I just noticed I put the Dreamcast and Gamecube as seperate generations...
Technically they're from the same generation, but it's weird thinking of it like that
The Dreamcast had pretty much died by the time the Gamecube and Xbox had come out, and a lot of the games on the GC and XB feel like a generation above what the Dreamcast showcased.
The Dreamcast was an anomaly, but it still remains my favourite console.

Re: What was your primary console in each generation
3rd Gen: Master System. Didn't have a NES. I do now, but i still prefer the master system for the most part.
4th Gen: Mostly Mega Drive. I had a SNES, but the only great game I had for it was Donkey Kong Country 3, and man cannot live on DKC3 alone.
5th Gen: N64. The only console I owned, and at the time, the only one I was interested in. I did enjoy the occasional play of Crash Bandicoot and Tekken 2 on my cousins playstation though. Bought a Saturn recently, but need to get some more games for it.
6th Gen: Gamecube. One of my favourite consoles of all time. Only recently acquired a PS2, havent got around to getting an XBox yet.
7th Gen: Wii. I love this thing, despite the hate it gets. The XBox and PS3 both have stuff that interests me, but not enough to justify the price yet. I'd probably get a PS3 next, but that can wait a year or 7 til they're affordable XD.
As for handhelds, I went for the Game Boy Pocket, Game Boy Colour, Game Boy Advance, DS line like everyone else probably did. I love my DSi too.
I bought a NGPC recently though, and it's great, and I want to get a PSP now all the best games are dirt cheap.
