Breath of Fire 3 or Vagrant Story

Hmm, the votes say Vagrant Story but the comments lean towards Breath of Fire. It seems Vagrant Story takes a bit more commitment. It's intimidating and welcoming at the same time.

I will be borrowing these games and the owner said I can take em both and give em back when I'm done, but who knows when that'll be.

I voted for Vagrant Story, tho both games have good and bad things about them. There's really no clear-cut answer here. BoF3 is charming, has a great cast and an interesting storyline, but it isn't as great as BoF2 and the restriction as far as the world map is concerned really put me off (it's one of those "point a to point b" maps instead of being an open world you walk around on). Vagrant Story has some great systems in it and a good story, but the battle engine has one near-fatal flaw: You get tired, and so your attacks start doing less and less damage. This means chaining attacks, while they start off doing more damage the more you chain end up doing less until you get down to doing 1 hp damage over and over again. It makes some fights just very tedious.
