The only time bumping ancient threads is annoying to me is when it's a help thread.

Nah I'm 100% fine with it.. Just wondering because I've been on forums where that was actually a rule.. I like the fact he's bumping old threads, some of the olds ones are pretty interesting and keeps me reading!

I would usually side with JFe2 on this but he is bumping with redundant statements or ones that don't add much. I for one think its fine to bump an old topic unless it is so old that the question is irrelevant or most of the people who originally posted aren't even members or rather non active members anymore.

look here for examples of his posts

Also Jrecee you by the way are breaking a rule:
3.No "inappropriate language" in forum titles – titles get posted to the front page and we want the site that is friendly for our mothers!

While a lot of his posts are similar, the majority of the threads he's bumping are actually interesting... There are some old threads in which I wonder why they didn't add further discussion.. I don't mind a newer poster, once he breaks in, his posting habits should improve.. Happens to all of us.. I used to post like a total retard!! Now I post only partially like one!!!

I propose Yosemite Sam-ing it. "Stop bumping rassa frassin' ancient threads".

Anyway yeah. New members are cool. Excited new members are cool. Just don't need to comment on absolutely everything with 5-10 word posts. Also some of the question threads had been answered one or more ways previously and it's obvious that just the first post or the thread title was read before commenting.

Title changed.

Look I'm fine with bringing back an old thread if you have something new to contribute to it, but like pepharytheworm said, it seems like he's just trying to rack up a post count. He's literally added a one line comment to almost two full pages of threads. Some of them are "help" threads with someone asking an opinion or question.

There are plenty of current ongoing discussions happening in recent threads to contribute to. And several other sections of the forum to post in. It's not necessary to flood the first two pages of the general forum with old stuff when most members are probably trying to keep up with current threads.

maybe he thinks he has to get in a certain amount of posts before he can buy or sell something on this site. which would clearly explain all of the 5 word posts, and 70+ posts in his first day.

there's nothing wrong with answering questions that are years old. I'll use Google to find an answer to a question and it's usually found in forums where people post the same problem and then others help them out (and the posts are usually a couple years old). maybe that original person already figured out what they needed to, but they are probably not the only one looking for answers

it's better to bump old threads then start a new one about the same topic. why dismiss useful information others have given just because they didn't say it yesterday?
