Maybe leave the sealed controller bins out in that Texas heat all day. If moisture buildup crack the lids to avoid damaging controllers. Even if you don't cook them all, it'll be a satisfying feeing of broiling the bastards. While the flea ovens are outside, spray every inch of carpet floor with good flea kill fogger. In addition bombing may help for any fabric not on the floor such as couch and curtains.

Wow, page two already.

Thanks for all the suggestions, guys. durkada, I keep seeing Borax mentioned in my research. It seems to be a magic bullet of sorts. We will be heading to the store to pick some up as soon as my wife gets home.

Temporary fixes if neighbor have fleas from pet. Maybe even a complaint to the Apartment manager? Something along line of requirements of not just a flea collar but Advantage flea control required for all pets of apartment units. An expensive drastic but very effective solution, a price one must pay for welfare of pet and tenants alike.

Baby powder, baby powder, baby powder!

It shouldn't damage your electronics (well, I know it won't as long as they stay off and you clean them thoroughly before turning them back on), it'll just get them really powdery. But, it should get rid of the fleas and leave your electronics with that scent that I love!

You can also buy REALLY BIG bottles of baby powder and dedicate a whole day to dumping it all over your apartment. You can make it REALLY fun and it should work, that is until the fleas inevitably come back...

Not keen on baby powder, though it is effective in killing the little buggers. Would also kill electronics. Game controllers are not air tight, end up getting that "Drywall" dust in the button contacts and joystick pots.

As long as you clean them thoroughly before turning them on, you're fine. You can dip electronics in water, and they'll be fine if you dry them thoroughly before turning them on.

To OP, what if you tried putting all your controllers into individual ziploc baggies. I don't know if it would work or not, but I don't see anyway fleas can live without air if you keep them in there for long enough. If you do that, there's no cleanup.

Got Borax and coated the carpet with a layer. Wife was brushing it in when we noticed the dust was being kicked up into the air. Needless to say, the Borax got on EVERYTHING. We vacuumed the layer off the carpet and cleaned it off of everything. I was afraid I was going to loose the macbooks and my consoles... may still as I'm unsure what long term effects it may have on electronics and I can't get inside a lot of things to clean it out.

We took a break from cleaning last night because the vibration from the vacuum is hatching the fleas. I needed to rest. I'm pretty sure the complex is infested. They have been pressure watching areas in the walkways and removing carpet from units people are still living in. I have seen them treating the lawns outside with something, too.

So, any idea what kind of damage the Borax could do to my electronic equipment? Everything is running fine now but I'm afraid it may corrode things. Living in a nightmare right now.

Anything not running at the time should be fine as long as you get all the Borax cleaned up. Anything running with a cooling fan may have sucked in some powder during that dustup vacuuming session. Maybe carefully take apart the questionable one and hit with canned air. In the case of the macbook, difficult to take apart, inspect the inlet ports of the cooling fan, peek inside DVD slot with a maglight.

Thx. Yeah, it doesn't appear to be as bad as I'd thought. Nothing was on so it doesn't appear that Borax got into anything.

As far as the fleas are concerned; my wife was off today and flea powdered the entire living room and surrounding areas. It's a small apartment. She let it set for several hours and then vacuumed it up. So far, no seen fleas last night or tonight. Emptied the vacuum when I got home and I could only see a single flea. It was an adult and barely alive.
