supposedly master system card games were cheaper alternatives in japan when you couldnt afford a normal game.
the same thing happned here, but they werent very popular. When sega later remade the console, they removed the card slot.
I own transbot and ghost house. they are pretty basic and they arent graphically powerful compared to the normal carts.
hence the cheap prices

I also like Transbot. Have you tried the SG-1000 game Orguss?

Hang-On has always been excellent game but I don't know if there are any differences between a cartridge version and the card version. Also, Transbot isn't that bad of a side-scrolling shooter. It kind of reminds me of R-Type.
I own TransBot. It would have been a fan-freaking-tastic shooter if it was released on a system like Colecovision or Commodore 64. But for the NES/Master System era, it is a little basic.
The only reason I really own TransBot is because I wanted a Sega Card Game in my Master System collection, and I like shooters so it's the one I picked. If you're looking for some of the best Master System games, though, you probably won't find them on Sega Card Games. Like was already said, Hang-On is a good game, but you can also find it on cartridge. I have the combo-cartridge that has both Hang-On and Astro Warrior on it which you can find for cheap.

Only a few are card only, sometimes they were put only on a cart in one region and only on a card in another.

Resurrecting an old thread here just to say that I just played the card and the cart of Transbot and there doesn't appear to be any difference between the two. Also, for those who don't know, it is just 2 levels that repeat over and over, but the waves of enemies get more complex.

Fun Fact!: You can play the card games on the SC3000 computer / SG-1000 (Sega Mark I) via the 'Card Cather' adapter.

I'll add to this zombie thread:
Ghost House and, of course, Spy vs. Spy are good.
A lot of the Sega MyCard games were just straight ports of SG-1000 games. That would explain why some of them are so graphically challenged.
Yes, look into a PC Engine/Turbografx-16. Quite a few Sega arcade classics came out for it in card form. After Burner II, Space Harrier, Fantasy Zone, Outrun, Power Drift, Altered Beast, Thunder Blade and Columns. There might have been more. Golden Axe also came out for it, but just in CD form I think.

Re: List of those card shaped Master System games?
I have Ghost House and Teddy Boy and they're both fun, although Ghost House is the superior of the two. For classic arcade-style games, I consider them pretty fun to play from time to time. Might be fun to collect for some, since there's not many and they're fairly cheap.
