I'm a huge fan of Silent Hill and am willing to look over its weaker entries in favor of the series as a whole. And frankly, I even got some enjoyment out of the games most folks criticize, so I suppose I can't say it's ever really let me down too much.

If we're listing more than one entry, I'll also add Final Fantasy and Megaman X, though the quality of those series has definitely been up and down, there's something about them. Whenever a new entry comes out, it's like a mind control device goes off in my head and makes me buy it no matter what. I was dissapointed that the Megman X remake on the PSP won't have any sequels due to low sales. Might be time for me to finally started getting into those Megaman Zero games

I used to love Dynasty Warririors, until the number of games, expansions, spinoffs, etc. just got too ridiculous for me to keep up anymore.

As far as best franchises go, Kunio Kun has everything beat hands down. So many good games that most people probably don't even realize its the same franchise.

River City Ransom
Super Dodge Ball
Renegade
Crash and the Boys Street Challenge
Double Dragon

Just to name a few. These were some of the best games released on arcade/NES and they're all Kunio Kun. 8)

Hell, the normal beat em up series is one of the best franchises. HG101 had a great article on these If I remember correctly.
Don't that just look oh so tasty?
