Are the rate of "lost item" higher with video games? I would think kids would try and keep some gamesgalaxy_ranger wrote:Hi,
I work for a public library branch in my city, and we have video games as well. Wii, Xbox 360, and PS2. They usually have long request lists though, so you have to get at them early. My branch is in the final stages of a massive renovation (re-opening August 16!) and sometime this year we are supposed to get a Wii for the branch. I think there are two other branches in the city that have Wiis set up for general use, but I haven't visited those branches to see.
Does your Public Library have Video Games?

The library in my area carries video games. Not a stellar selection, but cool nonetheless.

Unfortunately, the libraries in my county are closing left and right thanks to budget cuts. I doubt a lot of them have a decent selections of anything anymore. My card is probably expired so I doubt I'd be able to take a look anyway.
Collects promo gaming stuff, certain import games, hockey memorabilia, and other oddball things. (sig and avy under construction)

Dang your lucky! My library only has old educational PC games.

Some branches handle it better than others. Most of the items are on request lists so they don't ever stay 'shelved,' they just get put on hold for the next patron upon being returned. But some branches keep the discs behind the circulation desk (though they recently found that some people have still stolen the cases), other branches use big plastic security cases on them, etc. We don't have a problem with it at my branch, haven't seen it happen there in the nearly two years I've been there.

Yes they do, but it costs. Oh well. PC games too.
