After a hotel room opened up at the last minute and my girlfriend managed to rearrange her work schedule literally the day the con started, I managed to attend this year's. It was a lot of fun: I spoke with Tom Savini, who hyped Machete for me when I asked him about it, I lugged Clay Croker's projector around, and I managed to tell Jonathon Frakes that I like his Librarian films. Also I was able to attend a secret book signing session with Jim Butcher, who gave me some solid writing advice. And that was roughly in the span of 24 hours. I also bought a collection of Robert E. Howard's horror stories. I definitely am planning on attending next year.fastbilly1 wrote:So this was last weekend. Anyone who is on the forums because of one of the panels I ran at Dragoncon after I ran out of personal business cards can reach me at this username at gmail. Next year I will print out more.
It was by far the best convention I have ever been to. Not only did I hang out with most of the cast of Futurama, but I got to hangout with SpongeBob for a couple hours and he is one of the nicest people I have ever met.
