OH boy, GUNDAM!

Well, unfortunately Bandai didn't have the right vision for following up on Gundam Wing, and insisted on bringing on Mobile Suit Gundam (~20 years after its JP release), instead of bringing closer titles like Gundam X (or maybe Turn-A Gundam).

That said, I do think REAL Gundam fans should watch the original MSG, its just like watching the original Star Trek after you seen Next Generation, Deep Space Nine... But due to poor viewership and poor sales, Gundam DVDs were released in limited numbers with only English Dubs.

Now, here's where you want to make sure what you are getting.

Bandai did release all 43-ep on single volume DVD, with 13 total, IIRC. I believe that is out-of-print, and hard to find all 13 DVDs.

Then there was the three-disc Movie version - condensation of 43-eps into three 90-minutes movies. I think this one is the one that Bandai has been continuing to offer.

And guess what, after the US broadcasting of MSG, Bandai JP decide to restore MSG for DVD release! So I am guess the other Gundam DVDs you saw on Amazon MAYBE bootlegs of the later JP restoration.

This is the scope of my knowledge, if you do want further detail info, do check by MAHQ.net
