As to how is Phalanx so badass........ its one of the better SNES shmups, but I wouldn't call it badass. To be honest they did get what they were trying to do with that cover art, I would not have even noticed the game if it wasn't for the game art and the ads.

To me it's such a perfect HORIZONTAL (right?? Right??) Shmup. It effectively borrows all the right elements from the right games to make a perfect genre title. No?

No, that makes a cluster f#$%. Like I said its good snes standard wise, it has a nice since of speed and cool upgrades and bosses. Put it this way, what for instance sets this game a part from let's say..... Biometal a similar shooter.

Its worth a play as its so cheap why not.

when I first scrolled past it, I thought for a moment that "Cluster-F" was some kind of weapon in Phalanx (I've never played.)
