Turns out it was an MMORPG thing. I'm not into MMORPGs, but I signed up for Runescape months ago because a relative of mine was really into it. I'm usually willing to try anything out for a friend or relative even if it doesn't interest me. We haven't talked in a while though so I haven't played at all, but I guess my account is still active so I got this thing in my email from them

Off topic, I would absolutely LOVE to go back and play Runescape, but they completely ruined it. It use to be you had to stand out and say "Selling coal 100gp each". There were spots that were better to sell certain things in. Like the Falador bank was good for selling coal.
Now, you don't have to communicate with other players at all. To make a profit is super easy now, too. You just purchase feathers low and sell high, which is how it should be, but now you just have to press two buttons to do that! NOOOO!!!!!
Also, the trade function is just about useless now. Nobody uses it, as if you want to purchase something you just use the grand exchange! ARGHHH! You can't even give stuff away!
I use to make a bunch of stuff to level up my smithing or whatever. If I was feeling nice, I would give someone some armor I made. Like I would go to Lumbridge where the new characters spawn, trade someone, and give them full iron/steel/even mith armor! Now, I can't do that.
Also, a big part of MMORPG's for me is "scamming" people. I'm not talking about using glitches to scam or say you are trading one item when you actually trade another, I'm talking about trying to sell an item for more than it's worth. It's usually not effective, but if you can get someone to fall for it, it's very fun. Now, you can't do that.
Also, the glory days of the game have passed. Whether it be Jagex ruined it, or more likely, people just aren't playing it, except those who have worked very hard at it. And nobody talks about it in real life, so very few new players ever join. Because no new players ever join, all the players that play are old players that have been there forever and are extremely devoted to it. As a result, everyone is a high level! Also, everyone that is devoted enough to still be there (everyone who plays it) realized that they need to become a member to keep leveling up (like, they already got full rune, time for full dragon!). Your account can no longer be considered good, even if you have the best armor in the free to play world. The Rune armor is worthless now!
The game is ruined, and it really bothers me as I really want to go back to it!
