One thing that bothers is how much all the banners and ads and pop ups slow things down. The internet seems much slower these days than it used to be, because you have to wait for all that crap that you don't care about to load. Not to mention all the spyware that's out there that can get on your computer slowing things down without you eve knowing it

Also, funny thing on Hulu. A few times when I was on there catching up on some show I missed I would be asked what type of commercials I wanted. The nerve to actually ask people what commercials they want when you know damn well no one gives a crap.

I think that feature should be implemented on all sites. Like, if you have an account on GameTrailers, you should be allowed to select certain categories. That way I might see an ad for something I'm actually interested in.

Also, it should be completely optional and you should have to find it within your account settings, it shouldn't ask you, wasting your time if you don't care.

This. All the bloatware take forever to load script ads.

Even occured while loading JT's The scale of the known Universe demo. Stupid ad plays while the Demo gets a timed start. Throw it in your hard Drive, then no more worries. Safari browser has an inspect embedded element to download all the SWFs and all the other hidden video-pic-sound java files.

Here is the Universe Scale Demo direct download in case anyone missed it.

That's pretty close to the plot of the movie Hardwired. They've already put advertisements everywhere they can, including on animals. The moon is a giant Pepsi logo. So the big evil corporation wants to put chips in peoples' heads so that they can have advertisements beamed directly to their brains.

It's not a very good movie. I just thought it was relevant.

J T wrote:It annoys me that when I try to watch video game trailers on a site like gametrailers.com I have to watch a game trailer advertisement for some other game I'm not trying to preview before I can see the trailer advertisement for the game I'm trying to watch. If I'm seeking out a specific advertisement, why do I have to watch unrelated advertisements? I'm still subjecting myself to marketing either way. What's even worse is that when I finally get to the game trailer I'm trying to view, the first 40 seconds of it are little fade in animated logos from the game developer, the game publisher, the game graphics engine developer, the Nvidia trailer, and the logo for the janitor who cleans up the office where the games are developed. But, I guess those logos aren't so bad because they give me enough time to close the in-video pop-up, the regular pop, and the splash screen pop up that have all obstructed my view of the video I have been wanting to watch, but had to watch the Splinter Cell: Conviction trailer for 30th time to get to it first. Christ! I'd be more likely to watch videogame advertisements if they didn't fill them with so much advertising in them! What a screwy industry.
Why not just go to the game's official website? They usually have the full and/or extended trailers with no outside ads.
