Like I said in my original post, I tried using Xplorer360 (although I did spell it wrong).
I'm in no rush to softmod it as I've plenty other things to be getting on with, I simply wanted as much information as I could gather on methods that work. So I'll keep an eye out for a cheap, and small, memory stick at this moment in time. I was going to get a 32mb one off ebay going to 99p, but by the end of the auction it managed to get up to £13...
