I do have to agree that Marta and Tenebrae are good characters. But Emil is just terrible. It might just be the US voice actor, though, as I've seen the timid protagonist before in anime and the JP voice actors can make that work.

I really can't believe that I am starting to enjoy the game as I have progressed about 10 hours into the game. I think the graphics and design don't seem work well together and we are looking at a wii system where it can seriously surprise the players at times with some games that are very outstanding and healthy to the eyes. The monster hunting is new to the franchise and it did sort of feel out of place sometimes, but the characters, the plot, and the gameplay mechanics are still there to signify that you are indeed playing a Tales game as opposed to being a sequel. I really can't wait to play more, so that's as far as I go to share my little thoughts about the game.

I got to a boss battle in the game that I really had a hard time w/ and I just ended up quitting it (not just for that reason, I had another game I absolutely had to play instead). I enjoyed it tho it's certainly not on the same level as the original ToS. It also doesn't seem like it can stand up as a title on its own, you really have to have played the first game to even understand whats going on. Finally I think it feels half like fan-service and half like laziness since there are so many of the same locations in the game. But even so I really did enjoy it and will probably end up finishing it at some point (I'm borrowing a friend's copy of FFXIII so I need to finish that first). And yeah I'm not that big on Emil, but not just the timid Emil. I don't like either of em. Dunno, just rub me the wrong way I guess. The other characters are pretty cool tho.
