Dylan: Indeed, I understand that. Still, it's got a lot of potential. I mean, that's just the savings you would get in the first month. That's not bad for the first month.
Personally, I don't plan to sign up for this deal until I can save at least $30 on things I want. I would have been able to do that this go-around if I hadn't already bought WipeOut HD, but that's life.
It's just like how I'm not going to renew my GameStop card until I can actually use it. Otherwise, I'm just wasting months - and money.

Right. But as others have already pointed out.. you'd lose Wipeout HD after you chose to unsubscribe anyway. So it's better that you already have it, ya dig?the7k wrote:Dylan:

Not really. How many games have you downloaded, played for a little while, and then never gone back to?Weekend_Warrior wrote:Right. But as others have already pointed out.. you'd lose Wipeout HD after you chose to unsubscribe anyway. So it's better that you already have it, ya dig?
For me, it's all of them. Even WipeOut HD. I only played maybe 5 or so races and just never went back. Even the games that I really loved, like PixelJunk Monsters, Flower, Everyday Shooter and several others, I hardly played anymore after I completed them. They're just sitting on my hard-drive, as a "Why the hell not?" sorta deal.
One year is MORE than enough time.
Re: Playstation Plus
I just don't understand why anybody would pay for PSN+. It would be great to assume that should you pay the subscription that every month you will get a great game that is worth playing, but that is so unrealistic it's bordering on utopian. Chances are they're offering a couple of big hitters in the first month to reel the muppets into paying, hoping that they're just going to keep paying to keep access to a couple of AAA titles. It won't be long before Sony have run out of great content to 'give away' and just give you Little Mermaid or some other shit Disney cash in game for PSone and be done with it. "Thanks for the money chumps!".
The lack of control over what you game(s) you receive as part of the service is the killer for me. What if I go three months (which is very possible) where they give me games that I already own. Complete waste of money. If they said "here's 5 games you can 'have', choose 2" that would be acceptable. The chances of having all 5 games is quite high. As it is, it's just a massive waste of money. You'd be better off saving for the games you want and buying them as and when, and you have the added value of owning them instead of renting them. A rental has absolutely zero value, you don't own it.
All Sony has to do is make it a mandatory requirement that all games in the PSN store have a demo/trial. I don't want to have to pay a service just to be able to try games. It should be free, just like it is on 360. If I could try the games themselves then I'm sure I would buy them a lot more often. As it is, I can't try it, therefore I won't buy it unless it has universally high reviews and I'm sure I'm going to like it.

It's not free on xbox.
My subscription ended recently and it reverted to silver account. I can't download ANYTHING now, not even demos.

Re: Playstation Plus
You're wrong. The ability to download trials and demos of games is available on all silver account holders (provided that the trial doesn't have the gold exclusivity grace period on it but that usually only happens on premium demos).Riqz85 wrote:It's not free on xbox.

Re: Playstation Plus
Honestly I have like 10 games from PSN, and there is only 1 true stand out of the bunch that I really really like. Stardust HD! I have everday shooter, i dont get why people like it, its really lame IMO. Exactly for the same reasons, people have already mentioned here I im not interested in the "plus" service, besides, I still want my "otherOS" back!
