Re: Rotating Your Game Systems
I really would suggest looking into a switch-box (or a series of them) so you don't have to do the rotations. I like hooking up consoles as much as the next gamer, but when your collection starts to approach a dozen or so consoles that you want to play, switch boxes are such a convenience. Feels like i have a museum

Re: Rotating Your Game Systems
I have most of my systems hooked up at all times, but I need to get a second AV switch, so until I do a couple of systems are still there, but I have to unplug and plug in on the front AV port.

At least 2 video switch boxes? Maybe three depending how many need that HDMI connection.slowslow325 wrote:I have most of my systems hooked up at all times, but I need to get a second AV switch, so until I do a couple of systems are still there, but I have to unplug and plug in on the front AV port.
Only have 6 inputs on HD CRT so additional switchboxes needed. Unfortunately no VGA for Dreamcast.
Has a spare RF dedicated for the Atari 5200, the other when i don't want to go through digital Cox cable box.
Son has the PS3 going direct to his LCD HDMI.

Re: Rotating Your Game Systems
almost all of em hooked up. The ps1 and a few duplicates aren't hooked up right now. at my old place i had 13 total consoles on 4 displays, but I don't have as much territory since getting a new place with my girlfriend. I manage to keep three networked hdloader ps2's hooked up though, so GT4 is perfect for having a few people over.

Need FreeMCboot? I'll install it on your PS2 Memory Card for free if you cover postage both ways.
Consoles: I have too much stuff
Arcade: No seriously, I have too much stuff. Someone grab a shovel and dig me out of my basement.
Re: Rotating Your Game Systems
I got my PS3, XBOX360, Wii, XBOX and Dreamcast hooked up to my tv. All I have to do is change the RCA cables whenever I wanna play. Sometimes if I wanna play some old school stuff I keep all my old systems boxed up in my close for easy access. If Im too lazy to get them I just play the roms on my desktop.

Re: Rotating Your Game Systems
The only thing I rotate out is the Playstation 1. It's in pretty bad shape but it has a mod chip. I don't have many PS1 imports so there is little reason to keep it out. I have a PS2 fat that still plays PS1 games just fine.
That said, I only have 4 consoles if you don't count the PS1. It is easy to keep all of them hooked into the 4 port switch box. Of course, making sure controllers are put away but easy to get to can be a pain. My place gets very dusty and I like to keep accessories enclosed in containers whenever possible.

Re: Rotating Your Game Systems
I take the approach of attaching as many systems as possible to my 15.5 inch LCD. I currently have nine. The 2600 and TG16 have coaxial connections thru a splitter into a VCR, the Wii, N64, PS2 and Genesis with the Power Base Converter all have composite hookups thru a switchbox, the Dreamcast uses a VGA box for that and S-video for games that don't support VGA, and finally the 360 is hooked up to the HDMI port.
The only free hookup I really have is S-video, because most of my DC games support VGA anyways. I just picked up a Saturn, maybe I can squeeze it in there...
