The internet is a pretty small world, lol.Jerkface Killah wrote:That is my friend! He regularly posts stuff on Craigslist. He also has the most intense Saturn collection I have ever seen. In fact his whole video game collection is pretty killer. Put's mine to shame. We know that Kojima doesn't speak English, but we were hoping to get a chuckle out of him when he was the copy of Snatcher. Unfortunately, we never got the chance.dedalusdedalus wrote:http://newyork.craigslist.org/que/vgm/1787524903.html
This guy has a substantially similar story, it could be the same friend of yours who wanted "Snatcher" signed.

Re: F you, Kojima!
Okay throwing into the ring, another (sorry) maybe tangent and a trivia.
Tangent 1:
When I served on the aircraft carrier U.S.S Ranger, I met Walter Koenig and Lenard Nimoy and got both of their autographs on my Star Trek III Movie Laser Disc. They were filming Star Trek IV, the one where they go back in time to visit the original U.S.S. Enterprise. I also have the call sheet from the days filming tucked away in the Laser Disc.
Movie Trivia:
Prize was underway at the time, so our ship, Ranger CV-61 filled in with signs at the "Afterbrow" (departing ladder) posted U.S.S. Enterprise CVN-65. There aren't any "Nuclear Wessels" in the Ranger! During Chekov's interrogation filming could only go for short bursts. All the ventilation in the snipe spaces had to be turned off due to all the blower noise. With hot camera lights and the boilers next door in a confined space, it got warm quick! Oh, and Walt has no Russian accent and is very open and caring to take the time to talk to this fan.
Tangent 2:
Few years later on the Carl Vinson was where we did a Navy/Football Promo Joe Montana vs the Steam Catapult. Sorry football fans, my Steam Cat beat that toss. I did get his autograph and a photo in my Flight Deck Gear shaking Joe's hand.
Catapult Trivia:
Aircraft goes from 0 to 150 knots in 2-3 seconds. Length of double barreled steam shot gun 300 feet. Ultimate roller coaster!
Okay the point to this:
Obstacle in the case of that signed PSP is where is the proof other then your word. Maybe worth something, all depends on what one is willing to pay. Heck, you could sign it and dummies on E-Bay would buy just like other "Official" signed mementos.
In my examples no sale, a cherished memory of not only the famous, but of my time in the Navy.

Re: F you, Kojima!
Ummm, Kojima provides more fan service and attention to his fanbase than practically any other person in his position in the industry. Sorry you had bad-luck, OP, but I promise you it wasn't personal or anything. Unless of course it's amazing when the famous purple stuffed worm in flap-jaw space with the tuning fork does a raw blink on Hara-Kiri Rock. I need scissors! 61!
Also, I'll see your Chekov and raise you a Scotty: I met James Doohan before he died and got him to sign his Star Trek memoirs. It doesn't really make the book worth anything to anyone but me. The more a person signs something, the less their signature is worth. But money isn't and shouldn't be everything.
Hey, a fellow sailor! I also did my stint on a carrier...and cruiser, several destroyers, British survey vessel, etc. Never spent any time on a CVN though. For me it was the shitty kitty.CRTGAMER wrote:In my examples no sale, a cherished memory of not only the famous, but of my time in the Navy.

Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?
