3DS is supposedly more powerful than the Wii?

That sounds like win marketing strategy. Especially if Wii games are ported to the 3ds

Most Wii games can't. Alot of them require the nunchuck and the normal controller and the sensor motion. It may be a good marketing startegy for the 3ds... but Not the wii.

I saw a comment in the thread section of the article that stated something along the lines that producing PS3 level of detail at the DS's absolutely laughably low resolution isn't much of a feat. I would agree with that statement.

Well, the technology to build a psp is becoming really cheap, so I wouldn't be surprised to see something at least that powerful. I was hoping for an xbox power level and, knowing nintendo, expecting closer to dreamcast, so I was surprised to hear this.
IGN posted a similar story reporting that some developers had said the same thing.
I'm hoping that this is true.

To keep the 3DS affordable Nintendo will not likely go with the most powerful mobile processors. Another factor that supports this postulation is that battery life will suffer greatly the more cycles the processor(s) yield. The 3DS will be significantly more powerful than the DS, but it's redundant to speculate any further at this point with E3 being so close.

Nintendo will disappoint me greatly if they don't up the resolution from the measly 256x192 currently offered by the DS.

You're going to laugh when the 3DS, a product that Nintendo themselves announced and even named, is just a rumor? I don't know how that would be possible. Nintendo doesn't have enough of a sense of humor for that big a hoax.

I wouldn't be surprised to hear of an HD Wii in the pipelines though. God knows it's been speculated for long enough and the time is ripe.

Not as much a rumor as a coverup hoax. Something that they just madeup so people wouldn't know about the new system.

Or better yet, they purposely announced the 3DS and didn't announce the new system even though both are coming out.

Considering how old the technology in the Gamecube/Wii, I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo's new handheld has superior graphics. The Gamecube came out in 2001, after all. What's actually surprising is how well the Wii does despite being 9 years behind in terms of graphics.
