It has some skin cancer on the CP, right where you place your left hand. Other than that, it's a beauty! It'll be for sale once I get her working just right.DaGamingMonkey wrote:Looks so nice. I'm gonna have to take off the kid gloves, it bit the hell out of me today! I replaced the capacitors and transistors in the monitor, and felt some heat on a board inside it. It was from a large resistor, and it insta-burned my index finger. I checked it later with my infared thermometer and it read 400+ degrees. OUch.

ha! I was thinking the same thing. Those are probably close to if not the original buttons. Sweet!CRTGAMER wrote:I'm drooling, see leaf switches under the buttons! The only way to spin that ship!

Well guess that resistor is still resisting your efforts, sorry bad attempt at humor. A hot resistor definitely is not shorted out, still cutting down the current the way it should.fedexin wrote:I'm gonna have to take off the kid gloves, it bit the hell out of me today! Re: Dispair and delight - I got an Asteroids upright
Not working yet, but so far I've rebuilt the entire deflection board in the monitor. That, only to realize there was no "Y" signal coming from the actual game board! I think I have it narrowed down to one IC chip on the board, fingers crossed until I find a replacement...
Check the action over at the KLOV boards, too much minutia to re-post!

Very nice acquisition
Here is a night shot of mine and others.

Update: I've sent the monitor out for repairs, and I'm STILL waiting for it to come back. Gah!

Re: Dispair and delight - I got an Asteroids upright
I got the monitor back from Chad at monitorboss.com. It works great! I reassembled the monitor (you send Chad everything but the tube) and ended up having to adjust the yoke a bit after assembly to get the picture centered.
Here it is, video off-center:

It's for sale, as I don't have the room for it in my house. A fun project though!
