What Are Your Favorite Arcade Games of the 90's?
Re: What Are Your Favorite Arcade Games of the 90's?
I had to bump this because it's so old. Thought we'd get a lot more new comments. Also I didn't want answers limited to the 90s. Although all my picks are from the 90s.

Re:
the 90s made fighting games what they are today :]4ppleseed wrote:It's odd but none of these games interest me much. Just millions of Beat Em Ups and racers. Was that ANY innovation in the 90's arcade?
also, there might not have been any innovation as far as "new genres" go, but a lot of genres saw their finest titles. namely shmups and beat 'em ups. puzzle games also saw a few new ideas in the way of titles like Magical Drop and many others.
so i'd say there was innovation - it was just very within the realm of things already created.

Re: What Are Your Favorite Arcade Games of the 90's?
ah the 90s arcade...
i remember after school (HS) my friends and i often go to the liquor store nearby to play SF Alpha 2, MK3 and Area 51. (no we didn't buy any liquor)
when i went to college, there was i think two arcade cabs at the cafeteria. they were Samurai Showdown 4 (which was very popular with the college kids) and Marvel vs Capcom.
when i got my first job at movie theater as an asst manager, at closing time we would play NFL Blitz, Soul Calibur, X-men: Children of Atom and Killer Instinct. i also remember ms. pac-man in the corner all alone.
and every time i go to the mall during the 90s i would play SF2, TMNT, Simpons, random racing games, and NBA Jam! there was also this one moment when i was so busy playing SF2 that a girl came up to me and her "cute" friend wanted my phone number...i totally ignored her
. i was a young lad back then and i could careless about girls..
