Re: Mother and others for Advance Translation
A bunch of people on this forum have been asking me to make a Mother 3 cart for them, but I can't seem to find the mask ROM pinouts for GBA carts.
Re: Mother and others for Advance Translation
This thread has actually made me want to buy an EZflash just so I can play the game on real hardware. If you make repros, let me know Zig!
Re: Mother and others for Advance Translation
I would love to, but like I said, I've been coming up with zilch.

Anyone play the Mother 1 translation on Romhacking.net? I heard that the game is about 99% translated but fails at the END BOSS. Anyone confirm/deny?

Even better than Mother 2. It's that good.ieatramen wrote:How would you rate it in comparison to earthbound (snes)? I'm hesitant to play mother 3 because i loved earthbound so much that i would hate to be disappointed with it's sequel.k.vlaros wrote:I'm playing through the Mother 3 translation now. It's awesome - one of the best portable RPG experiences I've ever had. Lots of humor, almost no 'grinding', and great music are a few of its notable qualities. Everyone must try it!
Re: Mother and others for Advance Translation
You mean the translation for Mother 1+2? Romhacking.net doesn't have a translation for the original NES cart, as that was a dump of the NOA translated prototype. If I recall correctly it did need a few hacks because of the end boss, but as long as your game's title screen says "Earthbound Zero" then you'll be fine, as the title was changed along with the necessary hacks.Satoshi_Matrix wrote:Anyone play the Mother 1 translation on Romhacking.net? Re: Mother and others for Advance Translation
Not to bring up an old thread, but they released the full Mother 1 translation on Apr 30, and I am playing it now. It is sweet. The text flows a lot better, there is a real run button, and it even has the L button check that Earthbound fans love.
I remember trying to play the Earthbound Zero rom back in the day, but having to grind out levels too much. The patch includes an equipable "Easy Ring" that makes you have to grind less. I am finding it to be too easy though as I have blown through every area so far and there is no way to unequip in this game without equipping something else.

Re: Mother and others for Advance Translation
indeed. The mother 3 handbook is better than nearly ever OFFICIAL player's guide I've ever seen, let alone best in the world of fan guides. Mother fans are crazy devoted.
Re: Mother and others for Advance Translation
What would you need for that? If you need a GBA bootleg as an example, I have one.Ziggy587 wrote:A bunch of people on this forum have been asking me to make a Mother 3 cart for them, but I can't seem to find the mask ROM pinouts for GBA carts.
