A section for gaming lingo, terms, acronyms, etc.

This idea has been tossed around. I probably still have a copy of the list somewhere. Why dont we just start one, then we can cull through this topic for an article/guide?

Something simple like:
1cc = 1 credit challenge. Meaning completing an arcade game using one credit/token. Most often used by the shooter crowd.

FPS = First Person Shooter
RTS = Real Time Strategy
RPG = Role Playing Game
JRPG = Japanese Role Playing Game
SHMUP = Shoot 'Em Up, or Shooter

The only other genre off the top of my head that sometimes gets restricted to an acronym is SH(survival horror), but that doesn't get used much.

And an obvious one:

RB = Racketboy

FTW = For the Win or Fuck the World depending on the context. Both are fairly self explanatory.

Sometimes people say things without thinking. Where Im from they call this diarrhea of the mouth.

People like to say acronyms regardless. For the Win is used to denote "Yes" sometimes, and that I do not have an answer for.

I've always abbreviated Survival Horror as SurHor, because SH by itself could be referring to the Silent Hill series.

That's exactly why I take issue with so many acronyms for game series, I'd rather just write out survival horror.

Fighting games and action titles have a lot of weird terms and acronyms that some people might not understand like this one:

OTG= On the ground(hitting an opponent after he/she has been knocked to the ground)

That one used to drive me crazy when I didn't know what it meant.
