Well, needs to be female RCA jacks to female 3.5 (heaphone). But yeah, what CRT said. Plug the female RCA into the red and white plugs from the console cable and then plug the speaker set into the other end.

That is just what I need, thank you! I'll have a look in my local eletronics shop for such a thing. Although, I'm guessing there's no similar solution for my NES and master system? I only have RF outs for those.

You'd have to get composite cables for those systems too. If you have a toaster model NES, you should have the RCA plugs on the side to use. Any cheap double ended RCA cables will work. For the master system, you can still get cables for that as well. Look for master system or genesis model 1 video cables on ebay. Those will be mono, but should still sound miles better through the speaker set too.

All the correct cables are being sent via ebay (avoiding Hong Kong) as I type this. I also nabbed a Dreamcast SCART lead while I was on there as the aerial quality is unbearable.

Maybe I'll post a nice photo of my crumby, wire infested university set-up when I'll all done with this.
