Damn, reality sucks.
I hope you don't really think all exclusives would end fanboy console wars.

All you need to know..

I didn't realise they used Bink. Anyway no great loss since the game itself is average.

The problem with drawing conclusions from media-derived assets is that there's little transparency in what tech they use to take their shots. Some grabs even appeared to have mouse pointers on them, indicating that some sort of PC "print screen" function was used in their making.
Writer fail. Screen shot programs don't capture the mouse pointer they capture from the screen buffer before the pointer is overlaid on top.

I'm one of the game's biggest critics, but average is a bit harsh. The combat system is brilliant, the graphics are phenomenal, the sountrack is good. And although the story is lacking, the background info in the game's data logs in interesting. Too bad they didn't work more of that stuff in the actual cutscenes.

But lack of sidequests, restrictive gameplay(i.e. you level up when we say you can level up and no you don't get to choose your party yet), and too much linearity and tutorials really hurt the game a lot

FF13 feels rushed, which is not something I'm used to saying about an FF game

I realized this the other day: FFXIII's soundtrack doens't include The Prelude or The Final Fantasy Theme. The only Uematsu theme left is the Chocobo theme. It made me a little sad when I realized that.

Even the chocobo theme is a bit... Odd. Are the songs composed by Nobuo allowed to be used by Square-Enix? Who actually owns the rights to them?

And by the way, I installed Disc 3 to the hard drive and cleared the HD cache, but as I'm currently in some vally place, I can't yet comment on whether or not it helps with the drop in frame rate.

Square owns the rights to all the music Uematsu composed while an employee of the company. So they're free to use it or not use it as they see fit.

Err... Just in case anyone was interested, installing to the hard drive did make a slight differences in the amount of juddery-ness, but it didn't remove the problem completely.

It's interesting that you say it felt rushed since it was originally supposed to be a PS2 game. The JRPG genre needs some serious rethinking.
