Re: Anyone else wanna see the Virtual Console brought to the DS?
It would be a nice addition but I still prefer physical copies over digital distribution especially since Nintendo games purchased on WiiWare/VC/DSiWare are locked to systems and cannot be transferred is a problem. I like the flexibility of Steam and other digital services with ability to use on multiple devices.

Fuck no. There are too many limited rental games as it is already. The last thing we need is more of that bullshit. Now, if Nintendo will let us copy the DS Virtual Console games to a memory card and allow them to run on any DS no questions asked, that would be fine.
It's ironic to see fans of retro games supporting the Virtual Console. Make up your mind already. Personally, I can't buy anything on the Virtual Console because I like retro games. I don't like the idea of having to re-buy every game for each new console that comes out, and have all of the games on the previous console become unavailable to obtain and play.

No one is making you buy games you already have. And there is nothing ironic about fans of retro games supporting the VC, that's kinda the VC's target audience. I have a ton of VC titles and original consoles and games, they all happily co-exist with each other. It's ironic to see fans of retro games supporting the Virtual Console. Make up your mind already. Geeze, the GBA would play all those already, another marketing ploy to purchase DRM "Rentals".REPO Man wrote:I do, cuz then you can download classic games for the DS.
But instead of N64 games, which may be too much, allow DS users to download games from the GameBoy family of consoles (GB classic, GB Color, GB Advance).

I've been out of the PSP scene for a while, have they finally got a MAME emulator that can actually play anything yet? That was seriously irking me, thank god for the various Capcom and Neo Geo emulators they got working on that thing, but still, I wanna play some classic Konami beat'em ups on my PSPAnayo wrote:PSP with custom firmware, man.
And doesn't the DS have emulators that run on it already? Who needs a Virtual Console?

Seriously. Screw you Shao Kahn I'm gonna play Animal Crossing.

Emulation on the DS isn't the greatest, but it's adequate.Gamerforlife wrote:And doesn't the DS have emulators that run on it already? Who needs a Virtual Console?

A) The DSi doesn't have GBA supportCRTGAMER wrote:Geeze, the GBA would play all those already, another marketing ploy to purchase DRM "Rentals".REPO Man wrote:I do, cuz then you can download classic games for the DS.

B) The DS and DSlite only supports GBA and not GB or GBC
C) GBA games are mostly OOP and some are hellaciously(sic?) expensive, like the Castlevania games and all the other worthwhile games.

I've been waiting for DS Virtual Console ever since the VC announcement. Guess we have to wait for the 3DS.

Probably won't happen, either. although that would truly be awesome. It's not just that the games are huge, but the Saturn is probably the most complex console to program for. That is why you are unlikely to see Saturn games appear like this.benderx wrote:Dam I forgot the games would be huge, okay ps3.
