Since I just got my Xbox about a month ago, I will continue to play it offline. If I had been able to sign up for Xbox Live, I might have played a few rounds of Halo 2. Maybe I'll read a book instead.

Regarding those torrents, would I need to mod my Xbox to install them?

I just likely got in a couple of rounds of Star Wars Battlefront snuck in here at school. First time I've able to play multiplayer in months due to our campus wide bandwidth limiter. I'm glad I got to play, brought back great memories of playing with my high school friends hours some nights.

Yes but softmods are very simple to install if you have a memory card and a copy of Splinter Cell (any version of the original will do, including the greatest hits/classics version).

I don't think the closing of oXbox Live would impact that at all. Halo PC will exist forever (theoretically) as you can easily make your own dedicated server.
Actaully, this might affect the PC version. Some people will migrate from Xbox to PC, and play Halo there.

I'm going to spend this last day getting DLC I haven't downloaded yet.

No, no.......no

They'll just go onto Halo 3 or "THE ODST!" (Pronounced oohdst) instead.

Remember, the Frat boy/10 year old majority of Halo players don't know jack about PC's or PC gaming.

I don't own copies of any games that would actually get played online. Live on the oxbox has been pretty much Halo 2 only practically since the game came out. I hope this makes kai more active though...

Not really. Forza Motorsport had a huge following being pretty much the only simulation racing game with proper online play on consoles. I played hundreds of hours on it when I got it there was always full races to be had online even a good year or so after launch.
