I just wanted to pop in here and agree with everyone saying this game lived up to it's hype. I got Sin and Punishment the day it was released on VC and it's been one of the best downloads on Wii so far. The replay value, multiple control schemes, multiple controller options, awesome visuals, and the fact that it's an import only game in English, all make this game a worthwhile addition to my collection.

If you like Rez, Panzer Dragoon, or especially StarFox, Sin and Punishment is waiting for you.

And I'm waiting for the sequel!

Alright, I tried "type 3" controls.. and played for about 10 minutes, then i started a new game. Alright.. alright.. I ended up beating the game on "easy" with the new controls. LOL

Story still didnt make sense to me..

Good game!

 Type 3 control scheme, works every time. 8)

Besides that, try the game on Normal mode, it's a bit more of a crazy experience and really get's your blood pumping.

To simplify the story even further:

Scientists create a new food source by genetically altering animals and it blows up in their face by creating horrible mutant animals and mutated people out for revenge.

But wait there's more!

There's also an alien invasion trying to kick start a global war and rape the planet for it's resources, resulting in the giant Earth clone planet trying to blow up the real Earth at the end.

Just watch all the cut-scenes as you play a few more times, pay attention to what they say and it becomes clearer. Also watch the pre-game intro cut-scene for some more explanation.

All fantastic games that I love. They would ALL be on a top 100 list if I ever did one. While some go crazy for 2-d shooters the likes of Radiant Silvergun, rail shooters like this are far more fun for me. It's a great genre...or sub genre, whatever. I like Rail shooters for the fact that they are challenging while not requiring perfection or extreme skills like many of their 2-d brethren. This is why games like Ikaruga don't keep my interest for long

I've only played S&C on the N64, which is so much better just for authentic experience and I just love having a complete import copy of the game, but I want people to enjoy this game however they can so I'm happy about the VC version. This game embodies why Treasure is so great. Their games are all unique. They take what's been done before and add their own twists to it

I love the gameplay of this game. YOU MUST USE YOUR SWORD. I can't stress that enough. I figured this out after 3 hours of gameplay. There are bosses and stages where its kinda of hard to figure out. Well if i would have used my sword while aiming the cursor over the enemy it would have made it alot easier. But I have it figured out now. :D I will probably try it on normal. But i dont think the game will keep me coming back for more after that. We shall see.

Have you figured out the kickback mechanic yet?

Basically whenever there are any missiles or form of large projectiles coming at you you can use your sword to fling them back at enemies and large objects like flying ships and the like which makes the game an even quicker and simpler experience.

Yeah, and you have to aim your cursor over where you want the projectile to go, once you hit it with your sword. I did like the "end" stage though. Pretty neat how it ended.

Wait, people are playing this WITHOUT using the sword!? Madness!

Yup, I've played through S&P so many times (Literally went through it twice in a row earlier today) I could almost do it with my eyes closed. It's slowly inching up to daily play-through status such as Comix Zone and SMB were (And still are from time to time) for me in the last few years.

Alright "normal" mode is hard. LOL

That stupid stage where you have to follow behind that ball and shoot it up its arse and you are running at the same time... That stage pisses me off. The controls are just to hard for that. (even with controls #3)...
