3DO FZ-10 won't read games...

If you could take it apart and show us some pics we might be able to help you better, but it sound like one of your gears for the lens broke. If you move the lens and it moves very easy, like its loose, that could be a problem. There are a two bands that go on a track to the right and the left, are the still there. The last problem is something like hobie said. If you are not afraid to test the 3do with the lid off (you need a wheight on the disc or else it will fly off) see if the laser light comes on. It should shine through the disc, so you don't have to stare directly.

A friend called me tonight who has a FZ-1 and the disc wouldn't spin at first he messed around with it and now it and now it spins. He gets to the Real Logo and then it shows that the disc is open. He is wondering if the drive isn't spinning fast enough because the laser is moving. He is not sure if the laser is on because he can't see a reflection, but it is moving.
Any ideas of what he should try next?
