Wow, the things not quite so bad its unplayable...

I played a full game of Red Alarm (took me a good 2 hours), taking a break for a few minutes every 20 minutes or so (mostly because its recommended), and had no problems. I've never suffered headaches or eye strain or anything from it, although my eyes can sometimes take a second or two to readjust to the light after I've been playing it.

unless you use an emulator ;)

The great part about the emulators is you can just use a video out from your computer to a TV and then just sit back with some red/cyan 3D glasses and enjoy. I actually plan on buying some plastic 3D glasses (vs. the disposable kind) for this very purpose.

I once tried an emulator for it. I couldn't get any sound on it which pissed me off to no end, but still, even without sound, Wario Land was fun.

Whats with the wink? Emulation has utterly nothing to do with my comment.

Eye see what you did there

And I can't believe someone didn't mention Pat Daderko's (DogP) site yet.
It has tons of mods on it; including a yet to be fully completed TV & VGA Output adapter

BTW: This guy is the VB man. When I finally got ahold of and purchased my small VB Store Display Model
that didn't have the right key; he sent me a copy of his key for free (the keys are the same between the display units)

His Project: Virtual Boy page is here:

Thats crazy awsome!
Though it couldn't give the same output as the the VB, it would be impossible. It wouldnt "come at you". I did not look in great detail how it was done, but I would imagine it would be both displays outputting on the same screen.
