From my limited command of Japanese, it seems like this product is something where you're supposed to "play" the game only by hearing the sound effects. Is this right?

Just close your eyes and imagine, just like that freeway missile launcher.

I don't think it's a game at all. I think pressing the buttons probably just makes a sound effect from the game. Hit A and hear a shooting sound. Hit up and hear an explosion sound.
