I'm sure I'm way off but the descriptions remind me of this, I used to play it at my friends house, his dad had a cabinet.

No, its graphics have been 'better' than all the games presented so far. This was probably NES level shooter graphics.

Cyber-lip? I don't think it fits, but I'm just throwing it out there.

No, none of those. The Legendary Wings style looks kind of similar (in my shady, possibly distorted memory of it) but I remember flying in a ship or plane...I think. And there was something like Sinistar...I think. I wish I knew for sure.

Is there any kind of definitive list of every arcade released in the US with their years released? Or a definitive list for vertical shooters on arcade?

I'm afraid I don't know of any lists like that, but have you considered looking over shmups.com? They keep pretty extensive lists of old shmups, and you might be able to find it there.

You have a tough game to find. Couple links to help in your search. If you find it please post it. I'll keep looking too while playing more Mame.

Killer List Of Videogames
Lists in alphabetical order, You can search by letter. It does show year.

Mame for the PC can list Arcade games by year, manufacturer, clones any way you want.

This may be it.

Although I thought (maybe I was wrong) I was in a ship and that were were flying enemies flying in patterns. The floating head talking to me tells me that it almost has to be this because I can't really find anything else that reminds me of it but Sinistar. And I know it's not Sinistar. The floating head that talks is all I'm sure of. Because without the floating head, my memory doesn't mean anything.

Anyone know anything else with a head like that or Sinistar in a vertical scrolling shooter? Maybe this is the game...but I'd definitely like to know if anyone has anything that springs to mind.
