VGA for what? Dreamcast? If it is for your computer just get a vid card with TV out... there are several for very cheap. (I wouldn't be surprised if you vid card already has it)SnowKitty wrote:because not everyone can afford a flat panel TVmetaleggman wrote:why not use the vga port? My video card on my PC has two VGA out connections for dual monitors. Is it possible to take the second unused VGA out connector and hook up my Dreamcast VGA box to it so I can play the DC on my PC. I hate having to swap the monitor cable everytime I want to fire up the DC and those switch boxes really degrade the signal even with high quality Belkin cables as opposed to the crap ones that came with the box. I was hoping that with some sort of a software patch I can turn that secondary output in to an input.

Oh well, back to cable swapping for now. I saw an awsome HDTV in the store made by Sony with VGA inputs on the back. I bet the Dreamcast would look sweet on that thing. The $4,500.00 price tag was a bit hard to swallow though. The TV was a piano black Sony Bravia which looked outstanding compared to the other TV's on display next to it. The picture quality was so good it made all of the other HDTV's near it look like a joke. I'm not a big Sony fan when it comes to the quality of their products but Sony did their homework with this one.
This is an ign article from LAST year's CES. Lot of post count whoring lately...
Oh and IGN sucks
"We've grabbed a couple of images of the SED presentation we attended. Unfortunately, these dark shots do not do the sets justice so for now you'll just have to take our word that this tech is going to deliver big in 2006."
Oh ign, you so silly. Theres been no delivery of SED and probably won't be anything in a consumer price range for many years.

Actually, they have reported that it is being delayed until 2008. The point of this document is merely the pics. Also, these were designed to be made relatively inexpensively. While no pricing range has been set, I doubt they will be more expensive than 1080p plasmas, considering they are made out of much less expensive materials. The fact that they are using carbon nano tubes to emit electrons instead of turning a mixture of noble gases into plasma is kindof obvious that it won't be expensive. Though, I gotta admit that one of the more exciting things about this is that it could easily bring about something even better, namely FEDs. While even farther off, they will be pretty damn cool when they finally come.neohx_7 wrote:This is an ign article from LAST year's CES. Lot of post count whoring lately...

Re: CRT, LCD, and Plasma Killer
This thread makes me sad. I stumbled across it while running some searches. I had recently tried to find out what happened to SED. It is deader than dead. I can't believe nobody can move forward with this tech. Its exactly what we need.
