I have a Pelican 59 block, no problems. Of course you can never go wrong with first party. Gamecube Gray-59, Black-251, White-1019.
Yeah, I never was able to get any Action Replay memory cards to work well for me. I had one that was packaged with the original Action Replay for GCN that was 59 block that NEVER worked for me, 'till this day. I would stay away from most Datel or Action Replay cards because of that.
Collects promo gaming stuff, certain import games, hockey memorabilia, and other oddball things. (sig and avy under construction)

I backed that original Action Memory card on a regular Gamecube 1019. Original one put away, Older Action replay will not run without that save file.
Little trivia undocumented side note, the newest Gamecube Action Replay has a built in SD Memory Card Loader. Great for homebrew using a Gecko Card. Older Action Replay uses the better SDLoad program.
Question: Can the gamecube SD adapters (like this one) be used for game saves? Or are they just for homebrew?
I have a GC memory card with a miniUSB port on it, but the software is windows only, and it's a pain. Just reading them off an SD card would be great. The GC memory card is really just an SD card inside, isn't it?
We are prepared to live in the plain and die in the plain!
you know, I never even thought a 3rd party memory card could fuck up easier than a 1st party one.
Im gonna be all paranoid now

Gamecube Memory Card is similar but not exactly a SD Card.
For the Gamecube, SD Cards cannot be used for regular saves. The SD Card with a Gecko adapter and Action Replay along with a memory backup program on the SD card, can be used to backup your game saves to PC hard drive. Plus the Homebrew and EMU capabilities are a very cool added bonus.
