That's why only older controllers like the Hori Fighting Stick 3 will work with PS2 games. I guess since they phased out the PS2 backward compatible PS3 models, they didn't bother to release updates to allow newer controllers to work with PS2 games, which is probably why the Madcatz Fightpad/Fightsticks don't work on PS2 games.
ah- makes sense. Thanks man.
CRTGAMER wrote:I was just pointing out its better to run the PS2 with all those PS2 fighter games you have. Less headaches of Arcade Stick compatibility issues when using PS2 games with a PS2 compatible controller. For the Fighting games if you can find it, the Blaze Twin Shock is great! With the HDLoader you have convenience of not having to change discs and fast loading.
Unfortunately space is kind of an issue in my house. Don't get me wrong- I'd love to get a nice setup of sticks and consoles. I love the hardware and the blaze twin shock is pretty cool. But like i said- space is limited. Which is why i picked the 60gb ps3. Save some space. Box up the ps2. But yeah- i've tried 3 snk games and none have worked. Sad.

What kind of hardware is in the blaze twin? Just curious. They look like they are hard to come by. Might try to keep an eye out.

Older PS1 compatible Dual Arcade Stick made by Blaze. It has two PS1 connectors for two players. Works beautiful on my PS2 and with adaptors Soul Caliber is phenominal on the Dreamcast.

I have the Red and Black one which matches a lot of 80's Arcade games.

I have also modified mine to work as a Twin Stick. Simply jumpered second player stick through toggle switches over to player one TRIANGLE, X, CIRCLE and SQUARE buttons. I can play Twin Stick Robotron, Virtua On and Black Widow just like the original Arcade.

Hard to find maybe Google BLAZE TWIN SHOCK.

Nice! I like the red buttons against the black. I never knew those existed

I just found one of these at a pawn shop for CAD$17.99 in box. Same black one as CRTgamer posted above (2 years ago!). Feels like any arcade I'd played in Japan; not that I am that informative on arcades there.
